Mayfield Password Policy

 

  • Your new password must not contain part or all of your username.  Usually, your user name is your first and last name.  For example, if your user name is John Smith, your password cannot be Joh12345 or JSmit321.
  • Your password must contain characters from at least 3 of the following 4 categories and must contain at least 12 characters: 
    1. Uppercase characters A through Z
    2. Lowercase characters a through z
    3. At least one number
    4. A special (non-alphanumeric) characters such as these “! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) ? /”
    5. We encourage you to use all possible category types

 

Please keep in mind there are other password policies currently in place:

  • Your password expires every 365 days. 
  • The minimum password age is 1 days.  What that means is that if you change your password today, you will not be allowed to change it again for another 1 day.
  • Your account will lockout after 20 invalid attempts.
  • If your account gets locked out, it will remain locked for 30 minutes.  Contact the helpdesk to have us unlock it immediately.
